Daniel Ortiz

HIS STORY

From Atlanta to the Courtroom —
A Life Dedicated to Justice

Daniel Ortiz was born on February 5, 1982, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, but has called the Atlanta area home since infancy. He graduated as valedictorian of his high school, where he was involved in cross country, choir, theater, and the Beta Club.

Daniel’s passion for the Spanish-speaking world was sparked by his paternal grandparents and deepened by a mission trip to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico at age 16. He went on to study at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Spanish and Mathematics, and later did a study abroad program at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago.

It was during his time in Chile that Daniel decided he wanted to become an immigration lawyer. He graduated a semester early from Vanderbilt in 2003 and entered Georgia State University College of Law in 2004, graduating in 2007.

Since being licensed to practice law, Daniel has represented hundreds of clients in immigration courts, Georgia state courts, and various federal courts. He is deeply committed to the Latin community in Georgia.
